inspiration

This is me.

I am a jewellery artist from Vienna, learned in Florence and am living in a small town in Italy now. Starting with the pandemic in 2020, I have travelled for four years in a makeshift van throughout Europe, living in the most remote places in nature. Being in a stable place since recently, I have picked up my artistic jewellery practice. I am slowly materialising all the inspiration I came across during my travels.
Despite the fact that following a continuous artistic practice while being on the road was almost impossible, I found ways to stay immersed in my craft mentally, spiritually and practically. I started learning to crochet diverse shapes and techniques. Inspired mostly by colour combinations that occur in nature, I developed an expression of my soul imagery. My pieces are informed by being immersed in the beauty, roughness and rhythms of nature. I deeply connected with places, spent time with rocks and tides, watched the sunset being different every night and the light on the mountains highlight another ancient fold every morning. I noticed how well you can distinguish colours in moonlit nights and how much your feet know to navigate in the dark ones. For me, crocheting has become a meditative practice that transforms thought into form. I appreciate that the factor of passing time and constant change is woven into my works. While every stitch is made with the same exact movement, each one is unique, creating an even yet lively texture. Vivid colours and subtle textures reflect the joy of my soul remembering to look at the world with a child’s eyes.
